This update brings a major rework to several progression and reward systems. Mystic Bags and Elite Creature rewards have been redesigned, the Attribute System has been expanded with the new Binding Rune, and Training Weapons now have a more direct upgrade path through Training Cores. The update also includes faction experience adjustments, new boss rewards, monster and map balancing, NPC improvements, and several other gameplay changes.
Mystic Bags
- Removed Gems, Fragments, Shards, Rings, Training Weapons, and Rune Backpacks from Mystic Bags.
- Reduced the Mystic Bag drop chance from Elite Creatures. Mystic Bags are now significantly rarer on lower tier monsters, but have a more focused and rewarding loot pool.
- Mystic Bag drop rates now scale with both monster tier and Elite Star level:
- Level 1 Bags: 12% / 16% / 20% from 1-Star / 2-Star / 3-Star Elites.
- Level 2 Bags: 20% / 30% / 40% from 1-Star / 2-Star / 3-Star Elites.
- Level 3 Bags: 50% / 75% / 100% from 1-Star / 2-Star / 3-Star Elites.
- Added the Binding Rune as a rare Mystic Bag reward.
- Reduced the weight of Mystic Bags from 42 oz. to 8 oz.
As a reminder, Mystic Bag tiers are based on the creature's base health: below 340 HP for Level 1, 340-999 HP for Level 2, and 1,000+ HP for Level 3.
Attribute System
- Added a new rune to the Attribute System: the Binding Rune.
- Renamed the Overcharged Energy Core to Runic Focus and replaced its sprite.
- Attunement Runes no longer require 2 Ancestral Essences to use. A Runic Focus is still required.
- Removed the 1% chance for an Attunement Rune to degrade the target item.
- Increased the Attunement Rune success chance from 10% to 20%.
Training Weapons
- Added base Training Weapons for Axe, Sword, Club, Distance, Wand, and Shield training.
- Base Training Weapons can be purchased from common equipment and magic vendors for 1,500 gold.
- Added Charged, Energized, and Empowered Training Cores. These can be used on a base Training Weapon to transform it into the corresponding Charged, Energized, or Empowered variant, giving players more control over which type of Training Weapon they receive instead of relying entirely on random drops.
- Training Cores have a 75% chance to successfully transform a Training Weapon. The core is consumed regardless of whether the transformation succeeds or fails.
- Mystic Bags primarily contain Training Cores matching their tier, but can occasionally contain cores from other tiers. Higher-tier Training Cores are significantly rarer in lower-tier Mystic Bags and vice versa.
Quests
- Adjusted the experience rewards of 5 Darashia faction missions.
- Adjusted experience rewards across the other factions to better match the progression pace of the Darashia faction.
Monsters
- Elite Creatures now appear less frequently in the lower levels of the ancient tombs.
- Elite Creatures can now naturally drop one or more of the removed items previously found in Mystic Bags, including rings, shards, fragments, and gems.
- Cyclops Warriors can now be skinned as intended.
Bosses
- Added Mystic Bags, Essences, and Attribution Runes as possible rewards from raid bosses.
- Added Binding Runes as possible rewards from selected Dungeon and Faction Bosses.
Items
- Reduced the Black Robe's Magic Level attribute from 4 to 3.
Map
- Fixed countless general map issues.
- Adjusted several Minotaur spawn timers in the Kazordoon Minotaur Fortress for better balance.
NPCs
- Reworked Grumdir Stoneforge to support bulk crafting, shard conversions, and pick repairs in a single transaction.
Accounts
- Increased the maximum number of characters per account from 5 to 15.
- The maximum number of characters that can be sleeping in beds at the same time has been set to 5 per account.
About the Binding Rune
The new Binding Rune gives players more control over the Attribute System by allowing existing attributes on an item to be temporarily locked and protected from the next Purge Rune. This makes it possible to work toward a specific combination of attributes without risking all of your previous progress after an unwanted Ascension roll.
How It Works
- If an item already has attributes you want to keep, you can use a Binding Rune to lock them before attempting another Ascension.
- If the next Ascension adds an attribute you do not want, using a Purge Rune will remove only the new, unlocked attribute while preserving the attributes that were previously bound.
- After using the Purge Rune, the Binding is consumed. You will need to use another Binding Rune before your next Ascension if you want to continue protecting the remaining attributes.
For example, your item has: Critical Hit + Life Leech
- Use a Binding Rune to protect Critical Hit and Life Leech.
- Use an Ascension Rune and receive Reduced Weight.
- If you do not want Reduced Weight, use a Purge Rune.
- Reduced Weight is removed, while Critical Hit and Life Leech remain.
- The Binding is consumed. Another Binding Rune is required if you want to protect those attributes before your next Ascension.
The Binding Rune should make chasing specific attribute combinations significantly more realistic while still requiring a substantial investment in Ascension, Binding, and Purge Runes. Perfect items will remain difficult to create, but an unwanted attribute roll will no longer necessarily mean losing all of your previous progress.
