Frequently Asked QuestionsEverything you need to know about Valantis, including accounts, gameplay, custom progression, Premium, technical support and fair play. General
What kind of server is Valantis?
Valantis is a long-term 7.4 real-map
server combining classic gameplay with extensive custom content
and progression systems.
The world retains old-school combat, exploration and progression
while expanding the game with systems such as Relics, item
Rarity and Attributes, Bestiary, Charms, Dungeons, Factions
and Elite Creatures.
Is Valantis free to play?
Yes.
The game can be played without purchasing Premium.
Premium supports continued development and provides additional
world access, housing, guild creation, travel options and other
Premium functionality.
Is Valantis pay to win?
No.
Character levels, skills, Relics, high-end equipment, outfits
and addons are earned through gameplay.
Store purchases are primarily focused on Premium, account
services and convenience features.
Is the server ever reset or wiped?
No.
The world is designed around persistent, long-term progression.
The server is not built around seasonal resets.
When does server save occur?
Server save occurs once per day at
10:00
CET/CEST.
The server temporarily restarts while scheduled systems,
maintenance tasks, rent checks and other daily processes are
performed.
When does map clean happen?
Map clean takes place during the
Sunday server save.
Items left on the ground may be removed during this cleanup.
Does Valantis record gameplay for rule enforcement?
Yes, partially.
Server-side gameplay communication may be retained for
approximately 60 days and reviewed during investigations involving
cheating, abuse or other rule violations.
This consists of information exchanged between the Valantis
client and server. Your keyboard input, mouse movement,
desktop and activity outside the game are not recorded.
Accounts and Characters
How many characters can I create?
Each account may contain up to 15 characters.
Can I play more than one character at the same time?
No.
One player may have only one character online at a time.
This applies regardless of how many accounts, computers,
virtual machines, VPNs, remote desktops or internet connections
are used.
Keeping another character online for runemaking, training or
other activity while playing another character is also considered
multi-clienting.
Can family members play from the same internet connection?
Yes.
Multiple real players may play from the same household or
connection as long as each person independently controls only
their own character.
Automation or multi-clienting by a single player remains
prohibited.
Can I change my character name?
Yes.
Character name changes are available through website account
services.
What is a Secret Name Change?
A Secret Name Change provides additional privacy compared with
a standard name change.
For best results, this service is recommended during
server save.
Gameplay and Death
What happens when my character dies?
Death can result in experience, skill and item loss.
What are blessings?
Five standard blessings are available for
10,000 gold each.
Each standard blessing reduces the character's death penalty
by 1%.
A sixth blessing protects against attribute loss on death and
costs 200 gold per level.
Are outfits and addons sold in the store?
No.
Outfits and addons are earned through gameplay, including quests,
Dungeons, Factions, raids, hunting and other progression systems.
Can Relics and rarity-upgraded equipment be traded?
Yes, in most cases.
Progression items remain tradeable unless the specific item is
marked as character-bound.
Custom Systems
Valantis expands classic 7.4 progression without replacing the
core old-school gameplay.
What are Relics?
Relics are a permanent character progression and customization
system built around dedicated Relic slots.
They provide another form of long-term character development
beyond traditional levels, skills and equipment.
What are item Rarity and Attributes?
The Rarity and Attribute systems provide additional item
progression beyond the normal properties of equipment.
They are designed as long-term gameplay systems rather than
store-bought character power.
What are Dungeons?
Dungeons are custom 4-player progression content
featuring their own encounters, bosses and rewards.
They form part of Valantis' long-term PvE progression.
What are Factions?
Factions are long-term city progression systems with their own
content and rewards, including access to daily and weekly boss content.
What are Elite Creatures?
Elite Creatures are part of the expanded PvE content found
throughout Valantis.
They provide additional challenges beyond normal monsters and
contribute to the server's custom progression systems.
Are Bestiary Points, Charm Points and Dungeon Points the same?
No.
These are separate progression currencies associated with
different systems and rewards.
Economy and Trading
Can progression items be traded between players?
Generally, yes.
Most progression items can participate in the player economy
unless they are specifically marked as character-bound.
What is the Character Bazaar?
The Character Bazaar allows characters to be sold between players
using the website's protected trading system.
Public auctions begin without an active countdown. The
24-hour bidding period starts when the first valid bid is
placed.
The seller pays a 12% Bazaar fee when a sale is
completed. The buyer pays only the final purchase or winning bid
amount.
The Bazaar itself contains detailed information about public
auctions, Buy Now purchases, direct sales, bidding and
cancellation rules.
What happens to my points when I place a Bazaar bid?
The required amount is reserved when your bid is placed.
If another player outbids you, the full reserved amount is
automatically released and refunded.
Client and Technical Support
Which operating systems are officially supported?
The Valantis client is officially developed for
Windows.
Linux and macOS may work through compatibility layers but are
not officially supported.
Is there an Android or mobile client?
No.
There are currently no plans for an Android or mobile client.
Is WASD walking available?
Yes.
WASD walking can be enabled through the client options.
Does the client record my gameplay?
Yes.
The client automatically creates local gameplay recordings.
These can be viewed through the Play Cams
button in the client.
The client crashes or reports missing DLL files. What should I do?
Install the required
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables
from Microsoft.
The client stutters or performs poorly. What should I try?
Rendering performance can vary between systems and graphics
drivers.
If you experience problems with the OpenGL client, try the
DirectX client version to see if performance
improves.
Rules and Fair Play

of unfair automated assistance are prohibited.
Physical or mechanical methods designed to repeatedly trigger
actions while away from the keyboard are treated as automation
as well.
Are mouse button hotkeys allowed?

A mouse button may be mapped to a single normal input.
Automated sequences, repeated actions or macros that perform
multiple actions are not allowed.

same time.
The rule applies regardless of accounts, computers, virtual
machines, VPNs or remote connections.
Are VPNs and remote desktop applications allowed?
Yes.
VPNs and remote access software are allowed as long as they are
not used to bypass multi-clienting, automation or other server
rules.

and automated systems.
Relevant server-side gameplay records may also be reviewed when
investigating suspected cheating, abuse or other violations.

during server save.
Warning letters are sent 7, 3 and 1 days before
rent is due.

whenever possible.
If the depot does not have enough space, or the house contains
too many items, some items may remain inside the house.
