Task System

The Task System gives you repeatable hunting objectives for specific creatures and creature families throughout Valantis.

Tasks are designed to encourage hunting variety and provide additional rewards while progressing through different hunting areas. Completing tasks awards Bestiary Points.

Creature Objectives Complete tasks by defeating the required creatures.
Bestiary Point Rewards Completed tasks award Bestiary Points.
Solo or Party Task progress works alone or in valid Shared Experience parties.
7 Day Cooldown A completed task cannot immediately be repeated.

How Tasks Work

Basic Rules

  • Each task specifies a creature or creature group.
  • Progress updates automatically when an eligible creature is defeated.
  • The task is completed after reaching its required kill count.
  • Completed tasks award their listed Bestiary Points.

Creature Groups

Some tasks cover an entire creature family instead of one exact monster. This allows mixed hunting areas to contribute naturally toward the same task.

Example
A grouped task may allow several related orc, dwarf, elf, or minotaur creatures to contribute toward one shared kill requirement.

Difficulty and Kill Requirements

Different Difficulties Tasks are balanced around the danger and availability of their target creatures.
Easier Creatures Easier targets may require larger kill counts.
Harder Creatures Dangerous targets generally require fewer kills or provide stronger rewards.
Fixed Objectives Each task has its own defined kill requirement and reward.

Task Cooldown

7 Day Cooldown Completing a task places that specific task on cooldown for 7 days.
Task Specific The cooldown applies only to the task you completed.
Other Tasks Remain Available You can continue progressing other tasks normally.
Repeatable Once the cooldown expires, the same task may be completed again.

Solo and Party Progress

Tasks can be completed alone or with a valid Shared Experience party. Party progression is distributed between eligible members rather than duplicated.

Party Rules

  • Shared Experience must be active.
  • Only eligible party members receive task progression.
  • Progress is distributed between eligible members.
  • Inactive or ineligible players do not receive progression.
Example
In a party of 5 eligible players, the group must defeat 5 task creatures for each member to receive 1 task kill.

Task Rewards

Completing a task awards its listed amount of Bestiary Points. Bestiary Points have their own guide covering all earning sources and available rewards.

Character Progress

Task progress, completion status, and cooldowns are tracked per character.
