Bestiary SystemThe Bestiary records creatures you encounter throughout Valantis. Unknown creatures initially appear as dark silhouettes until you defeat them for the first time. Each creature has its own Bestiary progression. Continued kills reveal additional creature information and progressively unlock its loot entries. Fully completing a Bestiary entry rewards Charm Points. This page focuses on Bestiary progression itself; see the Charm Points guide for reward values and how those points are used.
Creature Discovery
Defeat a creature for the first time to reveal its Bestiary entry.
Kill Progress
Continue hunting the creature to advance through its Bestiary stages.
Loot Discovery
More loot information becomes visible as the entry progresses.
Completion Reward
Fully completed entries reward
Charm Points.
Stages of DiscoveryBestiary entries progress through three stages. Each stage requires additional kills and reveals more information about the creature.
Stage 1
Unlocked after the first kill. The creature is revealed and its common loot becomes visible.
Stage 2
Requires additional kills and reveals further creature information and uncommon loot.
Stage 3
Completes the Bestiary entry and reveals its rare loot.
Different Requirements
The number of kills required depends on the creature.
Difficulty Scaling
Stronger and rarer creatures generally require more kills to fully complete.
Bestiary Completion
Reaching the final stage completes the entry and awards Charm Points. Point values and Charm progression are explained on their dedicated pages. Solo and Party ProgressionBestiary kills can be progressed while hunting alone or in a valid Shared Experience party.
Solo Hunting
Eligible kills count directly toward your own Bestiary entry.
Shared Experience
Party progression is distributed between eligible members while Shared Experience is active.
Participation Required
Players must meet the Shared Experience requirements to receive party progression.
Distributed Progress
Party kills are distributed between eligible members rather than duplicated to everyone.
Example
In a party of 5 eligible players, the group must defeat 5 monsters for each member to receive 1 Bestiary kill. Party Rules
